1. NB-IoT technology architecture diagram

The typical narrowband IoT architecture has three layers, namely the perception layer, the network layer, and the application layer.

Sensing layer: It is composed of various sensors, including temperature and humidity sensors, two-dimensional code tags, RFID tags and readers, cameras, infrared, GPS and other sensing terminals.

2. What are the advantages of NB-IoT

Low power consumption: It can be seen from the figure above that the NB-IoT module can work in 3 states to save power consumption.

The maximum current consumption is 5uA in PSM mode, and about 6mA in IDLE mode.

According to the simulation data of TR45.820, a 5Wh battery sends 200 bytes of data per day, and it is expected to last 12.8 years.

Therefore, it can be used to develop equipment placed in remote areas of high mountains and wilderness.

Strong link: In the case of the same base station, NB-IoT can provide 50-100 times the number of accesses than existing wireless technologies.

This means that we can place more devices in a small space without interfering with each other.

Wide coverage: Improved indoor coverage will be provided. In the same frequency band, NB-IoT has a gain of 20dB over the existing network, which is equivalent to an increase of 100 times the capacity of the coverage area.

For underground garages and manhole covers where data acquisition devices need to be installed, NB-IoT is more suitable for occasions where 3G/4G wireless modules or 433MHz wireless devices are used.

Low cost: Both the module cost, power supply and communication operation cost are cheaper than other wireless devices.

With the development of NB-IoT, the expected price of a single connection module will not exceed US$5, or even as low as US$2.

Three, NB-IoT technology application scenarios

It is widely used in real-time monitoring and early warning of environmental data in oil fields, oil wells, gas fields, steam pipelines, heating pipelines, pump houses, cold storage, storage, agricultural greenhouses, and breeding.

It is widely used in wireless monitoring and early warning systems such as computer room, machine station power, environmental monitoring system, low-voltage power distribution monitoring system, electric energy data monitoring system, factory machinery and equipment, production line operation status monitoring system, production information collection system, etc.
