Introduction to LoRaWAN application scenarios
Whether it is smart cities, industrial and commercial management, agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry, it is the intelligent application field of LoRa in the Internet of Things environment.
In terms of smart city applications, if smart street lights are used next to the road, the lamp bulb usage status can be transmitted through LoRa, and the maintenance unit can be notified in time for maintenance and replacement of the bulb.
In terms of smart home, if the smart meter/water meter is combined with LoRa transmission, it will not only save the cost of manual meter reading, but also provide warnings in abnormal situations, so that the homeowner can grasp the water and electricity situation and avoid waste.
Reservoirs can use LoRa sensors to monitor water level changes; rivers can use LoRa sensors to monitor abnormal water level during heavy rain or drought, and provide flood control management.
When installing LoRa sensors on parking spaces in smart parking lots, there is no need to pull wires during installation, saving a lot of construction costs; one LoRa gateway can manage LoRa sensors in hundreds of parking spaces, real-time monitoring of parking spaces, and full control of parking spaces.
In terms of smart buildings, the past construction equipment gradually cannot meet the human requirements for the quality of living, and the intelligent building has become a trend. For the renovation of the building, sensors such as temperature, humidity and safety are added, and the monitored information is uploaded regularly to facilitate the supervision of the building manager and keep abreast of the latest state of the building.
In terms of smart agriculture, low-power and low-cost sensors are very important to agriculture. Smart agriculture is the application of Internet of Things technology to traditional agriculture. Environmental data such as temperature, humidity, and salinity are regularly uploaded through sensors. This information can effectively help agriculture increase production and reduce water consumption.
In terms of smart firefighting, every second counts for firefighting and disaster relief work and fire escape. Existing fire-fighting equipment can achieve limited effects when a fire occurs. Take the escape instruction sign as an example. The static instruction signal cannot cope with the changes in the fire scene, and tells the evacuees the correct direction of escape in real time, which often delays the time of escape.
The dynamic guidance system uses the characteristics of long-distance, low-frequency and low power consumption of LoRa wireless transmission technology. When a fire occurs, the dynamic guidance host sends a signal to the dynamic guidance light board installed in the building. It is a low frequency band below 1GHz, so there is no need to worry about the signal being interfered by other wireless communications. After receiving the signal, the light board will immediately give instructions to guide the asylum to a safe escape route.
