The Soiling Sensor is a dust and dirt monitoring sensor designed specifically for photovoltaic (PV) power plants. It is used to detect the accumulation of dust or dirt on the surface of solar panels. Dust accumulation can block sunlight, reducing the light exposure of the panels and thus impacting their power generation capacity. The device adopts advanced blue light pollution closed-loop measurement technology, which effectively monitors the cleanliness of PV panels, ensuring optimal operating efficiency for the solar power system.
It is particularly suitable for dry and sandy regions, helping maintenance personnel monitor the accumulation of dirt in real-time and initiate cleaning procedures promptly, thereby maximizing the power generation performance of the photovoltaic power plant.
- Real-time Monitoring of Dirt Accumulation: Continuously measures the proportion of pollutants on the PV panel surface, providing accurate pollution monitoring to help users understand the cleanliness status of the panels.
- Accurate Power Loss Assessment: Converts the pollution ratio (SR) into real-time power loss, assisting maintenance personnel in determining when to clean the panels and avoiding unnecessary cleaning operations.
- Maintenance-Free: The device requires minimal maintenance. Only periodic cleaning of the surrounding components is needed.
- Easy Installation: The sensor can be easily installed on new or existing photovoltaic arrays and can seamlessly integrate with the power plant management system.
- Photovoltaic Power Plants: Especially suitable for dry and sandy areas, used to monitor the accumulation of dirt on solar panel surfaces in real-time to ensure the photovoltaic power system operates at peak efficiency.
- Large-Scale Photovoltaic Power Stations: Supports automatic monitoring, reducing manual inspection frequency, and lowering maintenance costs.

1. Use two thick middle pressure blocks and four 304 external hexagon screws (M860) to install according to the indicated direction.
2. Fix the Soiling Sensor to the photovoltaic panel with four mounting brackets, passing through the M860 screws, and tighten with four M8 nuts.
3. After tightening the M8 nuts, use a flashlight drill with a φ6.2 drill bit to drill holes in the dust and component frames, drilling eight holes in total. Use eight 304 external hexagon screws (M625), pass them through the drilled holes, and tighten with eight M6 nuts to complete the installation.
Use special fixtures to install the dust monitoring system on the top or side of the solar panel, ensuring that the panel and the dust monitoring system are aligned on the same horizontal plane.
After installation, connect the RS485 communication line and DC12V power line. If only an AC220V power supply is available on-site, an outdoor AC220V to DC12V power converter can be used to convert AC220V to DC12V.
After installation, calibrate the device on a sunny day (between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM). First, wipe the sensor lens with a clean cloth, then press and hold the calibration button for 10 seconds. Release the button to complete the calibration.
During each cleaning of the solar panel, be sure to clean both sensor probes to maintain the accuracy of the monitoring sensor.
The Soiling Sensor is an efficient and accurate dust monitoring device for photovoltaic panels. It uses advanced technology to monitor the accumulation of dirt on PV panels in real-time, effectively improving the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic power plants and helping maintenance personnel take timely cleaning measures, thereby reducing maintenance costs. Its efficient operation, simple installation, and usage process make it suitable for various photovoltaic power plants, particularly in dry and sandy regions, making it a valuable tool for photovoltaic system management.
