Optical rain sensor is a high-tech meteorological monitoring equipment based on the optical principle of rainfall measurement. It utilizes advanced optical technology and electronic engineering technology to achieve accurate measurement of rainfall through light sources (such as lasers or LEDs) and light-sensitive components (such as infrared receiver tubes) as well as signal processing circuits. The light beam from the light source passes through the raindrops and some of the light is reflected or refracted. The receiver receives these reflected light signals, and the processing unit analyzes and calculates them to derive the value of rainfall.
