What determines the strength of WiFi signal?

The signal strength of WiFi on the router is determined by the transmit power and gain antenna.

In terms of transmit power, our country clearly stipulates that the transmit power of a single antenna cannot be greater than 100mw. No matter how expensive the router is, the transmit power cannot be greater than this value. (Some routers can manually increase the transmit power by flashing third-party firmware)

The conventional router gain antennas are mostly 3dBi, 5dBi or 7dBi. The larger the dBi value, the better, because the larger the value, the longer the transmission distance, but the smaller the vertical coverage angle. The router's coverage of the home is not so good. Therefore, the antenna of the home router is generally around 5dBi.
