Weather Monitoring Equipment Classification

Weather Monitoring Equipment (WME) refers to instruments and equipment used to measure and record various parameters of the atmospheric environment, including temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, precipitation, radiation and so on. According to the different measurement principles and use scenarios, weather monitoring equipment can be divided into the following types.

Meteorological satellite is a kind of equipment operating in orbit, which realises the monitoring and prediction of atmospheric environment through remote sensing technology. Meteorological satellites are capable of observing weather, hydrological and climate changes on a global scale, providing real-time data for weather forecasting and disaster warning. According to the different wavelength bands used, meteorological satellites can be divided into infrared satellites, visible light satellites, microwave satellites and other types.

4. Meteorological sounding (Weather Balloon)

A weather sounding instrument is a device used to measure the vertical structure of the atmosphere and parameters such as temperature and humidity, usually by means of a balloon or blimp for lift-off. A weather sounder carries various sensors to record meteorological data at different altitudes, providing valuable information for weather forecasting and disaster warning.

5. Radiometer

A radiometer is a device used to measure the radiation characteristics and energy balance of the Earth's surface and atmosphere. It is capable of monitoring various parameters such as solar radiation, albedo, temperature, etc., providing important information for understanding climate change and environmental pollution.

6. Meteorological lidar

Meteorological Lidar is a device for atmospheric sounding through laser beams. It is capable of observing atmospheric particulate matter, clouds, precipitation, etc. and provides data support for meteorological forecasting and climate research.
