Atmospheric visibility meter is a kind of instrument used to measure the visibility in the atmosphere, which can monitor and record the change of atmospheric visibility in real time, and is usually widely used in the fields of transportation, meteorology, environmental protection and so on. 3. Received by the receiver: The photodiode or photodetector at the other end collects the scattered light

4. Calculation of distance: The distance the light beam travels in the atmosphere can be determined by calculating the time elapsed from emission to reception of the light. Since the speed of propagation of the light is known, the visibility can be deduced from the time.

In good atmospheric conditions, the intensity of light received is higher; while in the presence of fog, smoke, rain, snow, etc., the intensity of light received is reduced.
