Pyranometer (solar radiation sensor) is a sensor using thermoelectric induction principle, designed for accurate measurement of solar radiation, capable of accurately measuring the total radiation, reflected radiation, scattered radiation, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation, long-wave radiation and other types of radiation from the sun. It is widely used in solar energy utilization, meteorology, agriculture, aging of building materials and atmospheric pollution and other fields, providing reliable data for the measurement of solar radiation energy.

II. Working principle of pyranometer

The core sensing element is a wire-wound electroplated multi-contact thermopile with a high absorption black coating. The hot contact is located on the sensing surface, the cold junction is located in the body, the temperature difference potential generated by the hot and cold contacts is proportional to the solar irradiance. The double glass cover is designed to minimize the influence of air convection, and the inner cover cuts off the infrared radiation from the outer cover.
