Atmospheric Visibility Sensor is a new generation of meteorological visibility monitoring equipment based on the aerosol front scattering principle. It inherits the advantages of the transmission visibility meter and overcomes its limitations, providing an efficient and accurate visibility monitoring solution for weather stations, remote automatic weather stations, and transportation departments such as airports, highways, airways, and large ships.
Light Emitter: Built-in laser tube, emits infrared pulse light at a fixed angle.
Optical Receiver: Built-in photosensitive receiver device, used to receive the intensity of pulses of light scattered forward by aerosol particles in the atmosphere, and convert them into electrical signals.
Microprocessor Control Unit: Built-in microprocessor is responsible for collecting data and converting it into Meteorological Optical Range of View (MOR) through special mathematical modeling algorithm, and calculating the current visibility value, and transmitting the data through RS-485 interface.
The sensor emits infrared pulses of light and detects their intensity in the forward scattering of aerosol particles in the atmosphere. A microprocessor controller collects all the measured information and converts it into a MOR value using a mathematical modeling algorithm. This process differs from the total extinction coefficient measurement of a transmissometer by focusing on the scattering coefficient at a specific angle, ensuring that the total scattering coefficient can be approximately equal to the total extinction coefficient at visibility levels of less than 100km.
