The NBL-S-TM Soil Temperature and Moisture Sensor is a stable, highly sensitive, dual-parameter measurement device capable of simultaneously measuring soil temperature and soil moisture. The sensor utilizes Frequency Domain Reflectance (FDR) technology to measure soil moisture and a thermistor to measure soil temperature. By measuring the soil's dielectric constant, it provides a direct and stable reflection of the true moisture content of various soil types and complies with international soil moisture measurement standards.

- Soil temperature measurement: A thermistor (NTC) is used to measure soil temperature. The resistance value of the thermistor changes with temperature, and the soil temperature can be accurately calculated by measuring the resistance value.

Quick Measurement Method
1. Choose a suitable measuring place, avoiding stones or hard objects.
2. Plan the top layer of soil to maintain the original looseness of the soil.
3. Insert the sensor vertically, avoid shaking, and make sure it is in close contact with the soil.
4. It is recommended to take several measurements at the same measuring point to find the average value to improve the accuracy of measurement.
Buried measurement method
1. Dig a hole with a diameter of more than 20cm to reach the required depth.
2. Insert the sensor probe horizontally into the hole wall at the desired depth.
3. Fill and compact the hole to ensure that the electrode is in close contact with the soil.
4. After stabilization, measurements can be taken continuously for days, months or longer.
- When measuring on hard ground, drill a hole smaller than the diameter of the probe, insert the sensor, compact the soil, and then measure.
- Prevent severe vibration and shock, and avoid striking the sensor with hard objects.
- Since the sensor is encapsulated in black, exposure to strong sunlight may cause the temperature to rise (up to 50°C or higher). To prevent temperature-related measurement errors, shield the sensor from direct sunlight and provide protection when used in the field or outdoors.
